BMw n13 calibrations

tuning guide for BMW N13 platform

The brilliantly engineered BMW N13 engine coming as a 4 cylinder 1.6 turbo. This engine comes in various models of the BMW range but commonly in the F20 1 series. It introduces itself in 3 different variants of model, the 114i (102BHP), 116i (136BHP), 118i (170BHP). All these models are identical in terms of hardware apart from the 114i not having the oilcooler that the other 2 have, the only difference is the software from factory. This in term means all 3 of these models can be tuned to the exact same power output without any additional hardware (Common to fit the oilcooler to the 114i models).

Stage 1 Calibration:

  • 220-230BHP & 310-320NM

  • Completely stock vehicle (Zero modifications required)
  • Brand new OEM coilpacks
  • Brand new OEM sparkplugs

Optional Additions:

  • Induction kit

  • Gearbox map (Auto models only)

Stage 2 calibration:

230-240BHP & 330-350NM

Please note figures will vary from vehicle to vehicle the above quotes are from what we achieved on many occasions but as we all know every engine is different.

Here we show a great example of both the stages taking place on a very healthy example of the N13 engine in form of the F20 116i. This was an excellent example of a N13 engined 116i brought to us from stock and covering over various hardware and tuning stages. The graph defines what we have achieved within stages 1 & 2.
